Who doesn’t like Laddus? I am not sure if any such person exists. The festive season is on the go and Laddus are the best and simplest of recipes to make the occasion more sweet and delightful. Laddus are prepared for several festivals and other occasions such as Diwali, Ganesh Chaturthi, Dussehra, Gudi Padwa, and so on. There are so many tyoes of Laddus one can make: Boondi Laddu, motichoor Laddu, besan Laddu, atta Laddu, nariyal Laddu, Coconut Laddu, Rava Laddu, and the list go on. Also, several variations are made to Laddu recipes so as to make them healthy for the kids. In this particular article, we will be helping you out to prepare Besan dry fruit Laddu and Chocolate Coconut Laddus
Let’s start with the Besan dry fruit Laddu
Mouth-watering besan Laddus are prepared with dry fruits and a pinch of cardamom and saffron powder. Besan or gram flour roasted with ghee in a pan, flavored with cardamom & sugar and molded into taut round balls. This recipe’s directions will help you make 7 servings of Laddu.
Overall cooking duration: 40 – 50 mins
Keep these things ready before beginning with the recipe
- 350 gm besan (gram flour)
- 200 gm ghee
- 1 tsp cardamom powder
- 175 gm castor sugar
- 1/4 tsp saffron strands soaked in 1 tbsp water
- 2 tbsp dry fruits
Follow these steps:
Heat ghee in a big pan.
Add besan and let it cook on a low flame, keep stirring constantly.
Turn off the flame once the besan colors and the ghee separates out. Let it cool a bit.
Stir in sugar, dry fruits, saffron, and spice.
Now make even-sized Laddus. You can also decorate them with additional dried fruits and silver leaf. They are ready to be served.

Making Of Chocolate Coconut Laddus
Now, let’s move on to our next recipe: Chocolate Coconut Laddus
Cooking period : 6 – 10 minutes
Preparation duration : 11 – 15 minutes
Keep these things ready before starting
- Chocolate grated 1 cup
- Almonds chopped 1/2 cup
- Desiccated Coconut 2 1/2 cups
- Walnuts crushed 1/4 cup
- Condensed milk 3 tablespoons
- Pistachios coarsely ground 1/4 cup
This procedure will help you make 4 servings.
Follow these steps:
In a bowl, take 2 cups of shriveled coconut. Add the walnuts, pistachios, almonds, and mix them. Keep them on the side.
In a microwave-safe bowl, thaw the chocolate on HIGH (100%) in a microwave oven for 1 min.
After removing it from the microwave oven, whip it till it gets a smooth consistency. Add it to the shriveled coconut blend.
Bring in the condensed milk, add it, and mix properly. Form small balls of it. Spool the balls in the residual shriveled coconut and they are ready to be served.
